Got my second training session tonight. Missed out last week as the other girls couldn't go, and Mike said it was pointless turning up just for me *feels inferior*



So hopefully tonight i'll get to do some of the more advanced moves that i'm used to while Fern and Emma learn more of the basics. I have a couple of ideas for finishing moves that I wanna try out, so Gav has offered to be the ragdoll. He doesn't know it yet though ;-)

Just got back from my first wrestling training in about 5 or 6 months, and I feel fantastic! I'd forgotten just how much I actually enjoyed it, and surprisingly it all came flooding back and I could remember it. We didn't do that much tonight, just learning how to breakfall, arm bars, back hammers and really basic stuff, but Fern and Emma hadn't been before so they had to start at the bottom. I helped out with their training a little as they seemed more comfortable with me than with Gav or Terry, even though they know them too.



Got a slight impact headache but thats onty to be expected on my first time back. I surprised my coach, Mike, when I was doing the warmups because when I used to go, I couldn't do pressups, and now I have no problem with them. He actually said he was surprised at my fitness. I was pretty surprised myself!



Got the gym tomorrow and thursday, then I think we'll be taking friday night off to relax before going again on saturday and probably sunday.

Went to my first Tae Bo class tonight. Don't think i'll be going again, at least not for a whie. Yes, it was tiring, but thats not why I didn't like it. The other women there were the most ignorant set of bitches i've ever been unlucky enough to be in the company of. Nobody said one single word to me, not even a 'hello, is this your first class?' kinda thing. Nothing. And the music...techno dance crap, the kind I'd rather slit my wrists with a rusty spoon than listen to. If I go again i'm a) taking a friend and b) taking an mp3 player with some MCM or Polysics or other J-rock on. Much better than that ravey clubhouse shite.



On the bright side, I'm starting back at wreastling tomorrow! It was gonna be starting in Feb but Mike wants us as soon as possible. It's only gonna be me and a mate of ours we call Little Emma (she's only 4' 10" and as skinny as my finger), but it should be fun. I can't wait to see her face when she realises she's gonna try and body-slam me! I'm not massive, only 5'5", but I'm broad and stocky, and I've got quite powerful arms too, so she's gonna have a job on! Fortunately I know how to get myself into a slam so she wouldn't have to do much of the work. I can't wat to suplex her though...she'll crumple!



But she's a psycho so I reckon she'll do ok. Hell, if I can do it, she certainly can! We're talking about a girl who headbutts metal shop shutters for fun! But then again, that IS when she's drunk...



Right, i've gotta go and throw myself against a wall to toughen my back up again!

Just got back from a 2 hour workout at the gym - my first in a long time! I'm fitter than I though I was, but not as fit as I want to be...My wrestling coach is starting the ladies classes this coming tuesday, but he knows I won't be able to afford it. He's gonna use this month to bring the others up to my level. Which is good but I was kinda looking forward to starting from scratch again! But I think I can remember most of it anyway. It should just come naturally when i'm actually in the ring. I may go to the class on tuesday anyway and watch them all suffer *evil laugh*

The training begins

Got my induction at the gym tomorrow. I'm actually looking forward to it. It's not the same doing workouts at home. I just can't do the proper cardio workouts I need, and I miss all the weights machines.



I'll only be doing toning weights as opposed to power-lifting, at least to begin with, but i'll be interested to see how much I can bench-press.



I just have to be careful not to get too big, I think women (and men for that matter) with bulging muscles look gross, and besides, Gav'd kill me if I got shoulders bigger than his! As long as I get my muscle definition back, flatten my stomach and strengthen my legs i'll be happy. My stamina will increase with the wrestling warm-ups i'll have to do...Mike, Terry and Gav aren't gonna go easy on us just cos we're female, thats for sure!

Dum-de-dum

Watched one of the training sessions in the lock-up tonight. It was the junior class, I tagged along because Gav picked me up at 4 on his way to giving one of the kids, Taz, a lift. Gav's training to be a coach so he goes to the junior classes to help out.



But I digress. Seeing the kids in the ring brought it all back. Now I can't wait to start wrestling again! We'll be hopefully starting the ladies night in feb. SO far it looks like it'll only be me and my mate Emma doing it, but i'm gonna do what I can to get more people interested. I work with 600 other people, surely a small percentage of them would be willing to give it a go! The mass email should go out tomorrow about it. I'm anticipating lots of emails asking me for details :)



I was tempted to take a few bumps tonight, but wouldn't have been a good idea seeing as I was in my work clothes! Wedge heel boots aren't great for keeping your ankles supported...



Dammit, I wanna get going again! I wanna be throwing myself into the ropes, and clotheslining people, and taking them down with a lariat...*pines*

Making a comeback

I haven't written in this section much as it's reserved for my entries about santa pod and wrestling, neither of which i've done anything with lately. But i'm expecting to be using it quite a lot this year as I keep track of my training.



That will be starting this saturday with my first visit to the gym. it's costing £30 per month and for that I get full, unlimited use of the cardio machines, weights, swimming pools, saunas (we're talking any in the county, not just the one gym), plus any fitness classes for £1. I'm definitely going to be doing boxercise as it'll help with my balance and co-ordination (of which I have none). Although my wrestling style is 'powerhouse' right now, if I go against someone bigger than me i'm going to need to use more technical moves, which is where boxercise comes in.



Iron Man is wanting the ladies nights to start at the end of january, which will give me about 3 weeks to get my fitness level back up and find some recruits for him. He's really excited about me coming back because there's virtually no women wrestlers on the local circuit. He's hoping to put on an all-female show later this year. But I still wanna get in a rumble with all the guys and show them who's boss!
